For once,  my overstated preconceptions (see previous post) were fairly accurate. The OR show is very reminiscent of a petting zoo where most of the animals look the same; 25-40 year old Caucasian males with messenger bags and button-up plaid shirts. To be fair, I fit this stereotype quite nicely.

A convention center larger and more populous than Crested Butte, complete with random outdoor celebrity encounters and enough free schwag to make your head spin contributed to a solidly overstimulating first day.  Here are some spy shots taken during my wandering breaks today.

That’s about all I can stand to deal with for now. Tomorrow I’ll try to capture some techy new climbing footwear including a new handmade $200+ MSRP La Sportiva Approach/climbing hybrid, some new oddly shaped 5.10 rock shoes, new BD harnesses, the latest and greatest in ski pack design, and more products to feed your hot gear fetish needs.
